Tired of launching every WhatsApp Campaign & it's follow up campaign manually?
Planning a sale on WhatsApp usually means planning more than one message.
You want to announce the offer, remind customers when it goes live and send a final reminder before it ends.
But each message needs its own setup.
You write the copy, check or submit the template for approval, choose the contacts and come back to set up the next campaign.
As the promotion continues, you're keeping track of several campaigns and deciding what should go out next.
That's why we're introducing WhatsApp Campaign Agent in AiSensy.
You describe what you want to achieve, choose your audience and review the campaign journey drafted by the AI.
After launch, the agent prepares message variants, submits them for approval and handles sending and follow-ups, while you track what's happening from one live page.
So, how does it work? Let's start with what you can ask it to do.
What is AiSensy Campaign Agent
AiSensy Campaign Agent is an AI-powered feature in AiSensy Dashboard that manages multi-step WhatsApp campaigns from a plain-language goal.
It combines end-to-end customer journey planning, message drafting, built-in A/B testing, Meta template approval, delivery retries, follow-ups, and live reporting in one workflow.
Think of a festive sale: a teaser first, an offer reveal next, then a reminder before the sale closes. Instead of setting up each send separately, you review the sequence together and launch the agent.
A WhatsApp broadcast is useful for a single announcement.
Benefits of using WhatsApp Campaign Agent
Plan your follow-ups while the campaign is fresh in your mind
A sale announcement and a final reminder serve different purposes. With Campaign Agent, you plan both as part of the same journey, rather than returning to build a new broadcast each time.
You can decide what each step should say and how long to wait before the next one. This gives your team one place to review the full campaign before it begins.
Spend less time on message drafting and template submission
Give the agent your actual offer, products, and campaign goal, and it drafts the steps for you.
You can edit the copy yourself or use Rewrite with AI when a message needs another approach.
After launch, the agent submits the message variants to Meta. The same WhatsApp template message guidelines apply to these messages.
If a variant is rejected, it can rewrite and resubmit it, up to four attempts.
That removes repeated submission work, although Meta still decides whether a template is approved.
Give failed deliveries another chance
Some WhatsApp messages fail because a number is unreachable or Meta limits delivery.
Campaign Agent retries failed sends in rounds using different message versions.
You can also turn on Roll over failures to include contacts the previous step couldn't reach in the next step.
This helps you follow up with missed contacts without rebuilding that audience manually. It doesn't guarantee that every message will be delivered.
Learn which message version gets a response
Should your message open with the offer, the product, or a reason to act now?
Campaign Agent creates different versions and splits the audience evenly across the approved variants. Each person receives one version of that step.
You can compare sent, delivered, read, clicked, and replied results, with a Leading label showing the best-performing version.
These results give you something concrete to learn from when you plan your next campaign.
Keep track of the campaign as it runs
The live page shows what the agent is doing, how each step is progressing and how much you've spent so far.
You can also open the contacts behind a result, including failed messages and their failure reasons.
If something needs your attention, you can pause or stop the agent from the same page.
What Campaign Agent handles for you
- Message variations: it writes several versions of each step so you can compare how different messages perform.
- Meta approval: it submits the versions for review, rewrites rejected templates, and resubmits them, with up to four approval tries.
- Sending and retries: it distributes the first send across approved versions. If a delivery fails, it can retry with a different version, with at least 12 hours between retry rounds.
- Follow-ups: it waits for the interval you set, then runs the next step. With Roll over failures enabled, contacts missed in the previous step are included in the next step too.
- Live results: it shows sent, delivered, read, clicked, and replied counts for each step and each version.
You can pause or stop the agent anytime.
And retries help recover missed deliveries, but they do not guarantee that every contact will receive every message.
Who can use Campaign Agent
Campaign Agent is available in AiSensy accounts for Owners and Managers.
It is not available in white-label partner dashboards, and users with the Agent role cannot launch it.
| Account plan | Campaign Agent access |
|---|---|
| Paid plans | Full access, with up to 15 steps. Launch requires enough WCC balance to cover the upper cost estimate. |
| Trial | Up to 10 contacts and 2 steps. Exceed either limit and you will be prompted to upgrade. |
| Free Forever | You can explore the flow, but launching a campaign requires an upgrade. |
Check AiSensy plans if you need to upgrade. Your subscription and your campaign’s WCC spend are separate things.
How to launch your first Campaign Agent
Follow this path in your dashboard: Campaigns → Launch → Campaign Agent → Goal → Audience → Journey → Review → Launch.
You can save and exit while preparing the campaign, then return to the draft.
The screenshots below come from the supplied launch guide. Names, contacts, message examples, prices, and results shown are illustrative; use your own campaign details and live dashboard values.
Step 1: Choose Campaign Agent
In the AiSensy dashboard: Open Campaigns, click Launch, and choose Campaign Agent.
Step 2: Give the agent a specific goal
Tell it what you are promoting, the offer, the audience context, and the dates that matter. Add a campaign name so you can recognise it later.
For example, you could write:
“Create a four-step festive sale campaign for our footwear store: teaser, offer reveal, sale reminder, and last call. Offer 10% off shoes and up to 30% off selected sneakers. Use a friendly tone and our store link. Wait one day between steps.”
That is an illustrative prompt, so replace the discounts and link with your actual offer. Add the sale start and end dates too. A vague “promote our sale” gives the agent less to work with.
Happy with the goal? Click Next · who gets it.
Step 3: Select your audience
Search your contact list or use filters such as tags, opt-in status, and blocked status.
Select the contacts you want to include, check the audience count, and continue.
Choose people who have agreed to receive the relevant messages, and honour opt-outs.
See WhatsApp’s Business Messaging Policy and our guide to getting WhatsApp opt-ins if you need help building that audience.
Step 4: Review and edit the journey
The agent turns your goal into a sequence.
Review each step’s purpose and message before moving ahead.
You can edit the copy, personalise it, and adjust media headers or buttons.
Use Rewrite with AI when a step needs a different approach.
Set the number of Message variants for each step and decide whether to enable Roll over failures.
Between steps, set the Then wait interval. The phone preview helps you check how the message will look.
One timing detail matters here: the wait starts when the previous step finishes.
It is not simply counted from the moment you click Launch.
Leave room for approvals and retries when planning a time-sensitive offer.
Step 5: Check the cost before launch
Click Review campaign.
Check the sequence, the estimated cost range, and your WhatsApp Campaign Credit balance, or WCC.
Your WCC balance needs to cover the upper estimate.
If it does not, use Recharge WCC to launch. Check the cost breakdown too, including the agent service fee.
Step 6: Launch and open live analytics
Click Launch campaign.
The agent starts writing its versions, submitting templates to Meta, and preparing the first send.
Open Live Analytics to follow its progress.
Launch time is not send time.
Messages go out after Meta approves the templates, and approval can take hours.
The agent can rewrite rejected templates, but approval is still Meta’s decision.

How to track your campaign results
Go to Campaigns → Campaign Agent and open your agent. The page updates as the campaign progresses.
See the campaign overview
The Overview shows the current activity, the Queue → Sent → Delivered → Read → Replied funnel, and the activity feed. You can also see how many deliveries happened on the first send and how many were recovered through retries.
The per-step table shows sent, delivered, read, clicked, replied, failed, and retry-lift figures. Agent details and live spend sit alongside the results.
Inspect a step and its contacts
Open a step to inspect its message. The sequence sidebar shows which steps are Done, Live, Up next, or Waiting.
Use the Contacts tab to filter by Sent, Delivered, Read, Clicked, Replied, or Failed. Failure reasons help you understand which contacts were missed instead of relying only on a total count.
Compare message versions
The Variants tab shows results for each version and highlights a Leading variant.
On the first send, recipients are split across approved versions, and each person receives one version for that step. Failed deliveries can be retried with a different version.
Use the comparison to learn which approach works for your audience.
A Leading badge is a useful signal; check the audience size and the actual counts before drawing a firm conclusion.
Need to intervene? Use Pause Agent or Stop Agent from the agent page.
WhatsApp Campaign Agent Use Cases
The best place to start is a campaign where customers need a few relevant reminders rather than one message. Here are four examples you can build around your own audience and offer.
Festive sales and limited-period offers
Plan a sequence that introduces the sale, explains the offer and reminds customers before it ends. Each step can have a clear purpose, so you aren't sending the same promotion repeatedly.
For a Diwali campaign, you could begin with a preview of the collection, follow with the sale details and finish with a reminder. These festive WhatsApp message examples can help you get started with the copy.
New product launches
Use a sequence to introduce a new product, explain what customers should know about it and invite them to take the next step through a button or link.
For example, a clothing store could introduce a new collection, share a closer look and send a reminder to the selected audience. Review the timing so that every step is useful while the products are available.
Follow-ups with interested contacts
If you have a group of opted-in contacts who have shown interest in an offer, select that audience and plan a short follow-up sequence.
A training business, for example, could explain a new course, share its key details and remind the selected contacts about enrolment. Keep the messages relevant to that group and check the audience before you launch.
Re-engage customers who have gone quiet
Have a group of customers who haven't heard from you in a while? Select the relevant contacts and build a short campaign around something worth sharing, such as a new collection or a returning-customer offer.
Start by giving them a reason to reconnect, then plan a relevant follow-up. Campaign Agent includes Re-engage dormant customers as a starting idea, which you can adapt to your business.
How Campaign Agent Billing Works
Campaign Agent uses your account’s WCC balance.
Before launch, Review shows a lower and upper cost estimate.
The launch guide describes the lower end as roughly half the messages being delivered and the upper end as all messages being delivered.
There are three cost components to understand:
| Cost component | What to know |
|---|---|
| WhatsApp message charges | Only delivered messages incur message charges. The applicable rate depends on the recipient country and message category. |
| Agent service fee | A percentage of message cost. The applicable percentage is fixed when you launch the agent. Check the fee in Review before launching. |
| AI drafting usage | Journey drafting is free up to a daily allowance, then uses WCC. Rewrite with AI includes 10 free uses per day; usage beyond the free allowance is chargeable. |
So “only delivered messages are charged” refers to WhatsApp message charges. It does not mean the agent service fee or extra AI drafting is always free.
The agent checks your WCC balance before each step, and the agent page shows actual spend as the campaign runs.
Keep enough credit available for the later steps too.
If WCC runs out or a template limit is reached, the agent can pause automatically.
If a step has no approved message version, that step stops; earlier completed steps are not undone.
Ready to let your campaign keep moving
Your next sale does not have to stop at one WhatsApp message.
Give Campaign Agent a clear goal, select the right audience, review the journey and cost, and launch when you are ready.
Then follow the results step by step, with the option to pause or stop along the way.
Open your AiSensy dashboard and go to Campaigns → Launch → Campaign Agent to get started.
